• Course: TDD for Embedded C++
  • Date entered: 2019-08-22 22:30:06 UTC
  • Course rating: Excellent
  • Most useful learnings: Possibly mocks, since that was the only completely new concept to me. The rest of it was extra information and perspective on things we are already using to some extent.
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements:
  • Exercise rating: Very Good
  • Exercise improvements: Server was a bit flaky
  • Instructor comments: Very personable and patient. I enjoyed the combination of guru experience and gentle humour.
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: Spent the whole week in training, and the dev environment of my particular team is very complex. It's difficult to see how we can apply this methodology to it, but it's clearly overdue. I will schedule time to work with the other attendee to see how we can make this happen
  • Challenges to applying: Mainly our dev environment has too many dependencies (currently, it's a game engine build with Visual Studio, using a submodule that's build with cmake). Build/run cycles are very long.
