• Course: TDD for Embedded C/C++
  • Date entered: 2022-04-13 15:37:23 UTC
  • Course rating: Very Good
  • Most useful learnings:
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: It would be great to have even more demos (but maybe go slightly less indepth into refactoring excercises). Or show a bit of the nitty gritty refactoring for a few min then skip to the complete result
  • Exercise rating: Very Good
  • Exercise improvements: A little more initial direction could avoid some confusion
  • Instructor comments: Great course! Very much enjoyed. I think next time I'd prefer a self-paced learning style (I believe you also had provided this option I just didn't see it). A 3 day crash course is like drinking from a fire hose. Also found the sessions a little long. May be nice to have more breaks, make them short and split up between more days. Or even meet once a week over the course of a few weeks to allow folks to digest the information! I also found it was very helpful to already be working through a TDD textbook prior to the course so I could hit the ground running I would certainly recommend this course to others but I'd want it in less of a crash course format :)
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: Still need a bit more time to practice but I think I'm 75% of the way there
  • Challenges to applying: Huge legacy code base. Each line of code churn can be very expensive to verify.
  • Other comments: I thought the remote delivery was good, although I personally still prefer a physical classroom
  • Legacy code workshop: No
  • Recommend to others: Yes
  • Quote permission: Yes
