• Course: TDD for Embedded C++
  • Date entered: 2014-12-10 16:58:05 UTC
  • Course rating: Very Good
  • Most useful learnings: Clean code, smelly code, TDD principles
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements:
  • Exercise rating: Very Good
  • Exercise improvements: More slots so that people can work more independently. The driver-passenger seat is nice but it would be better if we have the option to try some things ourselves
  • Instructor comments: I was feeling like some times he was trying to "force" a "fun" atmosphere. The crowd wasn't very responsive. You don't have to always "break the ice", not with all of the participants.
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: I have the principles, but I still need to setup my system, and take small steps to write the first tests from scratch. It is going to take a while.
  • Challenges to applying: Tones of legacy code and lots of dependencies. I will try to isolate some code and give it a try
  • Other comments: The "assistant" didn't work very well. It felt like the one kid in class that knows everything.
  • Legacy code workshop: No
  • Recommend to others: Yes
  • Quote permission: No
