• Course: TDD for Embedded C
  • Date entered: 2015-06-03 21:22:29 UTC
  • Course rating: Very Good
  • Most useful learnings: How useful unit tests can be when making changes to code functionality.
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: Unfortunately the course i took was only 2 days long. I would've enjoyed taking the longer version so that I could work on integrating TDD into my legacy code.
  • Exercise rating: Good
  • Exercise improvements: The exercises were good at getting the TDD concepts across. Some exercises that have to deal a little bit more with hardware dependencies or other peripherals might be useful. Although this may be too specific for a public course
  • Instructor comments: Excellent job, I appreciate all of the knowledge sharing.
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: First step would be convincing my immediate manager that this is important (and worth the immediate productivity hit) and working to integrate our builds into the test harness.
  • Challenges to applying: Getting buy in from all developers and the mindset shift in the development process.
