• Course: TDD for Embedded C++
  • Date entered: 2015-06-16 11:19:06 UTC
  • Course rating: Very Good
  • Most useful learnings: Got feedback that my current TDD skills need a lot to improve (f.e. I tend to rush ahead with production code too much, i have not used test list etc.)
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: I expect to hear more about techniques to do testing close to hardware (how to do mocking for hardware drivers, how to do unit testing with IDEs meant for embedded programming (Atollic Truestudio, IAR workbench, uVision etc.). Did not understand that the course is specifically for embedded, it did not feel different from TDD for C/C++.
  • Exercise rating: Very Good
  • Exercise improvements: The code was missing highlighting. Felt like programming with Notepad.
  • Instructor comments: Good to listen a person who knows what he is talking about. :)
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: Started to use test list. Next thing is to push swapping cppunit.
  • Challenges to applying: The whole build system (server) is cppunit oriented.
