• Course: TDD for Embedded C
  • Date entered: 2016-10-11 10:11:40 UTC
  • Course rating: Good
  • Most useful learnings: How to do a Mock to simulate the hardware for a Device Driver
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Good balance
  • Course improvements: Possibly a slightly better "flow" somehow. Maybe also a better agenda upfront with an idea of what we will be doing at what time (roughly), helps to schedule breaks etc.
  • Exercise rating: Excellent
  • Exercise improvements: I thought the exercises were ideal
  • Instructor comments: Professional yet informal. Knowledgeable and easier to talk to.
  • Better prepared: Bring it on!
  • Start tomorrow: I have also ready started the process of writing unit tests before a new block of code. It actually seems to work!
  • Challenges to applying: Only persuading some managers that more time upfront will cause a huge time saving later on. Most of them agree in principle anyway.
  • Other comments: The cork board (parking lot) for dumping comments / questions worked well. The online dojo worked especially well. Nothing like being able to write code and see the results within seconds when on a course.
  • Legacy code workshop: No
  • Recommend to others: Only if improved
  • Quote permission: Yes
