• Course: TDD for Embedded C
  • Date entered: 2016-11-05 01:22:52 UTC
  • Course rating: Very Good
  • Most useful learnings: Not one thing in particular, but it was useful to be immersed in a mindset for two days, and be encouraged to see what is possible, and the possible ways it can be used.
  • Concepts v exercises: Not enough exercises
  • Presentation v discussion: Too much presentation
  • Course improvements: Very good overall. Though James is entertaining and engaging, there could have been a touch too much presentation and discussion.
  • Exercise rating: Excellent
  • Exercise improvements: They went well.
  • Instructor comments: James is entertaining and engaging, and brings a lot of insight and experience via a wide variety of stories and use cases.
  • Better prepared: Much better
  • Start tomorrow: Probably! The starter kit is nice to have.
  • Challenges to applying: Cultural entrenchment.
  • Other comments: From the title, I was almost expecting to be working on boards, and actually be doing some embedded development. That would be neat, but the mocks and introduction to TDD itself were pretty good too, and showed a way forward. Especially in terms of getting to a mindset separating the hardware from the software.
