• Course: TDD for Embedded C
  • Date entered: 2017-10-18 12:30:50 UTC
  • Course rating: Good
  • Most useful learnings: Process and methodology for implementing TDD within existing code
  • Concepts v exercises: Good balance
  • Presentation v discussion: Too much presentation
  • Course improvements: I think the course would benefit from a single code-base for the exercises. There's a lot of time wasted in trying to come up to speed on different examples. You might look into finding one set of code that you can implement against.
  • Exercise rating: Good
  • Exercise improvements: See above comment
  • Instructor comments: Came across as a little bit defensive of the curriculum at times. Also got sidetracked on unrelated issues at times.
  • Better prepared: Moderately
  • Start tomorrow:
  • Challenges to applying: Infrastructure and impact to schedules of currently active projects. There is also some level of resistance from the development team, which I will need to overcome.
  • Other comments: I'd like to see some more in depth examples in the presentations to set people up for success in the exercises. The slides tend to stay at a somewhat abstracted layer and I noticed a lot of people seemed to get off on the wrong foot.
  • Legacy code workshop: No
  • Recommend to others: Yes
  • Quote permission: Yes
